Team Arrive back in the Cwm

Today was the day of the grand descent. At 08.15 Pasang Tensing, Brett Hammond and Bruno Baschung set off from the south col (7900m) heading for camp 2 (6400m) a total descent of 1500m. I’m sure they were looking forward to getting to the richer air as they stayed ahead of the main group for the whole day. On the evening herald website today! DUBLINER Cian O’Brolchain is on top of the world after bravely reaching the summit of Mount Everest. The finance professional and tennis coach completed the gruelling adventure yesterday by summiting at 6am Nepal time (1am Irish time). After having only a few hours to rest and recuperate the teams get ready to leave Camp 4 for the summit of Everest and Lhotse. Their respite may only be short but there are many things they have to do to prepare themselves for one of the biggest challenges of their lives. We are happy to announce that eleven members of the Jagged Globe 2012 Everest team summited Everest this morning (Leader, David Hamilton (6th summit), climbers; Cian, Warner (first Costa Rican to summit Everest), Ian, Phil and Nick, plus Sherpas, Mingma (18th summit), Thundu (5th summit), Ang Di, Phurbu (3rd summit) and Tsering (5th summit). Cian made it to the top of the world!!

Cian just called his Dad from Camp 4 on the South Sol at 8.15 ish irish time. He summited at about 1am irish time (6am in Nepal). It was very windy but he sounded strong.
